Cat Out Of The Bag

It has been brought to my attention that two of my books, namely, Dark Secrets and Shadows In The Night, are ‘sordid’.

It’s not especially specified which exact parts are; just the books in general. (Somebody please tell me!) Well, it’s funny, I have never heard such a criticism before, except as this is now being conveyed as a statement on the Internet.

Touch of irony here?! Well it seems that the very same person making this general complaint is the very one who used to enjoy reading these books whilst lying on a beach in Great Yarmouth – sipping a soft drink and nibbling chocolate – when they went on holiday! The person told me they really enjoyed them at the time and even listed me on the internet as being their ‘favourite author’! (And I have all this on record so the cat really has escaped ‘from out of the bag’!)

Gosh! The mind truly boggles at the hypocrisy of some people.

Well, filming tomorrow. They want to do some shots in the wood, but that’s depending on the weather, of course.

  1. Dear David
I certainly wouldn’t describe your books as ‘sordid’! On the subject of filming, I know you are very busy, but when do think there might be some new films/interviews to download from your website?
    Regards Matt

  2. The very idea of cats being put in bags is disturbing. If people didn’t put them in bags they would not be getting out of bags. So please refrain from bagging cats.

  3. For Matt
Well thankyou very much for that Matt. As a matter of fact, I have to admit that that is the first time I have heard anything about my books being ‘sordid’! Maybe a little controversial, yes, with my opinons on witchcraft and some religious beliefs, but sordid, no!
I was quite busy with filming today, which I believe I said, and didn’t get finished until about ten thirty by the time everyone had left (hence you may notice no main post today).
Matt, I hate to keep saying this, as it sounds like I’m just making excuses but I really have been so occupied with things lately that I just haven’t had a chance to hurry up the new video clips.
I am currently in talks with The Guv’nor as to what will be going up and in what format and I will keep you posted. But I assure you it will not be to long.
Everybody keeps asking about the same thing.
    Thanks Matt.
    For now, David.

  4. Hello yet again Cat, if anybody is being ‘sordid’ around here as has been suggested, it is really yourself!

  5. David,
Your books are not ‘sordid’, they are highly informative and often amusing. They are always truthful, which is more than can be said of some books out on the market.

  6. Hello Again Columbine,
    Well Columbine,
Out of the hundreds upon hundreds of people who have read my books not anybody has ever said they are ‘sordid’ – except just ONE person!
To make it so hyporcritical, that very same person said not so long ago they read them all through and enjoyed them very much. AND that very same person in their profile on the Internet listed me as their favourite author!
People can’t change the truth Columbine; however some may want to.
    David

  7. Hi David,
I know that you write about the truth because I have knowledge of your sources. (I won’t divulge them!) People can bend it, and say what they like, but the truth is the truth.
There’s no getting away with it.
    Columbine.
