Hoggy Hallowe’en!

Here is another snippet from the Hallowe’en Special, “Hoggy Hallowe’en”. Can’t give too much away as the American project is not due for release for a few days.  But it should make a real special treat for many of you when you see the film (with sound no less!);  much more fun than your usual Hallowe’en “Trick or Treat” nonsense!
An unexpected visitor turns up in London, demanding to get his grubby trotters on classified information from the 1970s concerning a so-called ‘vampire’ which has persuaded him to leave his billabong down under in a desperate attempt to try to track it down. Is he successful? Or has his mission been a total waste of time? The forthcoming film really says it all, and you won’t have to wait long now for the scariest night of the year when ALL will be revealed!
Della and I have been sharing a quiet weekend. A lot of news in that direction as well, but that will be forthcoming very shortly.  Here is a picture anyway (and if you look closely at Della’s left hand, you may get a clue!!
Have fun any way,

You'll never guess, so don't even try!

Hallowe’en Is Getting Spookily Closer …

Well, Hallowe’en is getting spookily closer everyone, but I have a little news for you. I do not usually celebrate Hallowe’en (except for attending the odd party or get-together) but this year may be a little different, as decided to entertain some of you with a seasonal film. It will be out in a week or so, and here is a still (see above) of one of the end credits.
It is a wonderful little film (now completed) and I just wanted to share it with a few of my devoted fans – not least some living on the south coast, and others as far afield as Australia. In other words, it will be global, loved by some but no doubt will be hated by a select few.
I’m not going to give too much away here, as you will just have to wait until you see the film. But the idea came from America, and, in the end, I succumbed to all the pressure – especially, as the film people wanted this to coincide with the new part of the Comic Book, scheduled for release at Hallowe’en.
I say no more at the moment, other than I will be supplying a link here to the short film in the very near future.
Must get back to a glass of unfinished wine now, and a little more contract writing.
Yours for the moment,

Della Mentioned That . . .

Only me!
I see the Canadian broadcaster and psychic investigator, Steve Genier, has now uploaded last Sunday’s episode of Nocturnal Frequency Radio to the archives of the show which means, of course, it can now be downloaded by any interested people.  This involved a 2-hour interview (well almost!) with myself about the recent release (July 23) of the 2nd Volume of my autobiography  “David Farrant: Out of the Shadows”, and, for a pleasant change, a couple of slots with the person who wrote the 15- page Introduction to the book; my close friend Della.  She was a little nervous about going on air at first but – with my irresistible charm – I managed to persuade her to do so.  Steve and Alex (his co-presenter on the show) were especially interested in talking to her; mostly because she had more knowledge than most about the intricacies of my life; but  more so, perhaps, because had studied many aspects of my 1974 Old Bailey ‘witchcraft Trial’ which have never been released to the general public.  She was aware, for example, of the inherent corruption in the Metropolitan Police Force which resulted in “Operation Countryman” (a six year Parliamentary inquiry into the way police interviewed suspects without the use of tape recorders) which resulted in 400 police officers losing their jobs but, surprisingly, no prosecutions
For the purposes of her research, of course, I had given Della full access to all the papers relating to the case; including Court transcript, witness statements, depositions, private photographs and letters, and much, much more.  And she was especially fortunate in knowing a retired ex-Met police officer who read her transcript before she passed it on to me for publication.  Interestingly, he told her that what had happened to myself had been a serious miscarriage of justice, mainly because of so-called ‘admissions’ by ‘myself’ admitting to the five Highgate Cemetery charges and ‘confessing’ that I (and others whom I refused to name for their own protection)  conducted ‘nude Satanic orgies’ in Highgate Cemetery at night and had desecrated tombs and vaults there.  I was, in fact, to be found not guilty of the three major charges, but found guilty of two minor ones that had only been introduced at the last minute.  This ex-police officer also told her (accepting my assertion that I had denied these alleged ‘confessions’ and none of these had been signed by myself) that it would not be possible to obtain convictions in such a manner today as the law had been changed in 1984 to make compulsory the use of witnessed tape recordings (with the right to have a solicitor present, which I was denied) during police interviews.
Della mentioned these facts in her long Introduction; and this was probably yet another reason why Steve and Alex were pleased when she agreed to go onto the show.
But I think the whole interview went well,  and anybody can now download it if they would like to hear what was actually said.  Alternatively, they could read the book, which has now been registered at Nielsens and Amazon, is on Ebay, and can be ordered at most bookshops.
On the subject of publications,  I am pleased to announce (again) that the second part of the 2007 American Comic Book will be out around Hallowe’en.  In fact, I was reading my copy earlier and its probably the funniest thing you’ve ever seen: at least in relation to the Highgate case and the parts other people had to play in the scenario.  The ‘bonky one’ with his ‘tea pot cosy’ has not been forgotten; as indeed, has neither the ‘Yorkshire Pudding’ who ‘has no heart’ nor the dear little ‘piggy creature’ who has since announced he is writing an ‘Internet book’ –  with the obvious intention of also cashing in on the Highgate case.  And indeed, neither has myself!  I take a starring role as well; yes, together with all the usual ridicule.  But having said that, I don’t really mind believe it or not.  I have always maintained that it is essential to retain some sense of humour in this somewhat depressing world, and I like to think that at least I have not lost that!
Well, a night off tonight – for a change.  Just some wine and a few letters to keep me company.
People here tomorrow, then again Saturday when more filming is scheduled.
Then another radio broadcast on Tuesday, but they have agreed to keep the ‘bloody’ Highgate Vampire out of it.  Can’t say I care about that – indeed, it was mostly my own suggestion!  It can get a bit boring to have to keep repeating facts which took place over 40 years ago!
See you all again soon everyone,

Nocturnal Frequency Radio

Nice Autumn day today; things still fairly quiet though workwise. Second edition of Comic Book is still on schedule, and I have confirmation now that this will be ready for Hallowe’en. So watch out everyone – though you will need a sense of humour!
The second revised edition of my ‘Pact with the Devil’ book has also been completed, and just waiting for the printers. Can’t give too much away at this stage (or K will murder me as usual!) but I can tell you it includes text from a Yorkshire lassie that completely repudiates things she later said to an Australian cousin. The poor guy allowed her to give a written interview in good faith although had not realised that by the time she gave it the “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” had taken over. Nevertheless he printed it, but equally ‘nevertheless’ he had been well and truly ‘duped’! I say no more now, but the book says it all!
Just a little more news…Steve Genier has invited me back onto his Nocturnal Frequency Radio show this coming Sunday (16th October). It runs from 11pm til 1am Canadian time; which is 4am to 6am GMT and can be listened to here: http://www.livestream.com/nocturnalfrequencyradio. If most of you will be in bed at this time (perhaps understandably!) the show will be put into the archives and thus downloadable about 24 hours afterwards from here: http://nocturnalfrequencyradio.podbean.com/2011/10/19/nfr-dark-discussions-with-david-farrant/

. Another guest will be appearing with me, but I’ll leave you all guessing about their identity at this stage. I can perhaps just add that I will be speaking to Steve about the recent release of the second volume of my autobiography which has proved so successful.
That’s it really, I guess. My new aide Trish in the BPOS has now started work with a mad enthusiasm. I hasten to add, that is not a bad thing, it is really pleasing to see somebody with such dedication.  She is writing a much requested book about the Highgate vampire case to satisfy public interest in her home country of Thailand. I wish her all the luck in the world in her project and so far have supplied her with basic – yet essential – material relating back to that case in the 1970s.
Anyway I’ll keep you up to date with more details on Steve’s show, but as it is 12.45am now UK time I better look ahead to getting some much deserved sleep.
For the moment everyone,

Home on the Range

Home on the Range...with a whisky!
Well, I haven’t been out at all today; having decided to stay Home on the Range instead.
But it certainly has not been a boring day. I had a chance to meet Trish for the second time today. Unfortunately Della didn’t get to meet her as she has been in town most of the day, and couldn’t make it back by 6pm. A couple of other people from the Society were here, however, and we all made her feel at home, and with her friendly outgoing disposition she fitted in perfectly. She seemed very excited to be able to get involved with my Blog, and spreading the word back in her native Thailand. I understand she has to go back there in a couple of years due to family problems, but in the meantime she will continue working in north London as well as volunteering to do her share as a BPOS member.
As I promised her, I had ready many old newspaper cuttings about the Highgate case and others involving myself and had photocopied many into two box files for her to keep. She is pretty good on the computer, and has volunteered to make a ‘database’ of the material in this vast archive, scanning them as she goes along.
Trish was making a start on this, while the others and myself did a bit of filming for the Hallowe’en Special video. I think Trish was a bit confused by some of the things she saw, but we assured her this was quite ‘normal’ with Hallowe’en approaching. One of my friends ran her back to Camden when she was ready to leave, and she promised to return in the middle of next week when I would be able to sit down and have a longer discussion with her in private.
Della got back about 7pm and cooked something to eat, which was accompanied by a superb bottle of red wine she had brought back from the West End. Della suggested inviting Trish over for dinner one day, and that she would be quite welcome to bring her boyfriend Tony with her if she wanted. It would be a good arrangement, as Tony and Della get on extremely well, and I’m sure she would like Trish. Maybe even next weekend – just not sure yet.
Had quite a lot of tidying up to do as props from the filming were lying all over the place, and I didn’t want to leave too much clearing up for her to return home to, especially as she still had to cook dinner, and we have to prepare for another trip to Potters Bar tomorrow afternoon when we hope to get further information on the haunting in the old farm house there.
So. Tomorrow is really another day!
For now everyone,

Yet More News

So what’s new on the paranormal front? A lot really, as things seem to be happening so quickly around here!
Another call from the lady in Potters Bar yesterday ( Thursday) who was quite distraught due to yet more paranormal happenings in her old Farmhouse. She has invited Della and myself to go up there for another visit on Sunday, and she has agreed that we can take some photographs in the old cellar again.
Her dog, Max, has apparently recently ‘attacked’ some ‘invisible entity’ in a corner of the basement, and is now unable to sleep without growling in his sleep. Anyway, more news on that after we have visited again.
Anyway, books are going well – another 3 orders today.
“Pact with the Devil” has apparently been immensely popular, and will now have to get another batch of 1000 or so printed to meet the demand. But at least that book has more than paid for itself in the initial outlay, and I am thinking of extending an additional chapter into it (by public demand) to explain the true involvement of the main character, and her duplicitous involvement with one who wears a teapot cosy as a hat, and another, who lives in the nether regions of Southern  Australia.
A lot more has been happening, so just watch this space tomorrow!

More Talk . . .

We have just uploaded onto YouTube the final 3 parts of the Talk I gave at the Muswell Hill Bookshop in April 2009.  The interviewer was Dr Jane Monson, a literary University Graduate from Cambridge.  The talk was mainly centred on the 1st Volume of my autobiography “David Farrant: In the Shadow of the Highgate Vampire”.  There was a Q & A session at the end, and signed copies of the book were sold afterwards.  My next Talk (based on the 2nd Volume of my autobiography) will be in central London in early January, and I give you the details shortly here for anybody who might wish to attend.  Enjoy  everybody!

Last Night’s Show…

Just to bring you up to date everyone, last night’s show on Steve Genier’s “Nocturnal Frequency Radio” was apparently a big hit. Steve’s guests included Don Ecker, Jason Day and Justin Villareal, and little ol’ me, David Farrant. Steve began very courteously by questioning us all about our involvements in paranormal research :  Don, as a radio interviewer who runs his own shows; Jason who runs his own UK based local paranormal group, and Justin, who runs US based Lake County Ghost Hunters Research Group.
The show went really well, with a lot of relaxed conversations involving all concerned. I didn’t manage to get off the phone til 6.30am, but luckily had a chance to relax and enjoy a good glass of wine with Della afterwards (hence the rather ‘spontaneous’ pic!). ‘In case anyone didn’t get to listen this morning, I understand it is now online and you can listen to it or download here: http://www.livestream.com/nocturnalfrequencyradio/video?clipId=pla_763c5309-2843-42ba-a6bd-e99f806f9be5
On another matter, I heard from a friend called Trish today, a college student. I had not heard from her for some time, but she recently approached me with a project that she had in mind; i.e. that she would handle all queries about the Highgate vampire case, and deal with these appropriately. Well, I can’t really stop her, because the girl has got a mind of her own and if Trish says she wants to do something, she usually ends up doing it! Well, her apparent enthusiasm seems so great, that she has apparently elected to become a member of the BPOS. Dear Trish, I do wish you the best of luck, because we do have to deal with so many irrelevant complaints from nutcases!
Anyway, just ‘go for it’ sweetheart if you really feel capable. But I warn you, many imminent dangers lie ahead, wherein you will probably be besieged by a barrage of emails from a mass of aliases and hangers on / obsessives, as soon as you make your first public comment!
But thanks Trish, nice to hear from you, and I really appreciate your offer. Please just go for it if you want to, as I’m far too busy at the moment with other things.
Anyway not much has been happening apart from the above, but I’m really looking forward to the new Comic Book, which is due for release around Hallowe’en time.
Be in touch soon Trish, and welcome aboard!
For the moment,

Though There Was More to Come…

Another quiet day, so not much more to report really, although I spoke to my friend Steve Genier yesterday and agreed to be a guest on the panel of tonight’s Nocturnal Frequency Radio show, which is being broadcast live between 11pm and 1am Canadian time,  which means it commences at 4am UK time. I have invited quite a few of you already, and thanks for the response. I do understand that it may be a little early for some to listen live in the morning; but then think of me! As I shall be keeping awake to do it!
I understand the subjects are to be varied on the Paranormal, so I can’t really tell you at this point what exactly is going to be discussed. But the link for the streaming broadcast is here: http://www.livestream.com/nocturnalfrequencyradio and you can also listen to the archive of the show after 24 hours.
Anyway,  as it will be live, I would obviously be available to answer any queries or questions about the subject if asked. So come on, Cousin Hoggy, please put your identity where your mouth is, if you need clarification about any points. The phone-in is even free, as you can use Skype. If not, just listening is also ‘free’!
On another note, there will soon be coming up another Hallowe’en special on DFTVX: please watch out for this, as the initial rushes look very promising. (Cousin Hoggy is also in this – though not by my suggestion but in the film script which is obviously out of my hands).
And there is, of course, the new edition of the Comic Book which the American people are confident will be released before Hallowe’en. All in full colour of course, and will be available in all good bookshops, by mail order, and of course on Amazon.
A few of you may remember that in December 2006, I was interviewed by the film producer Kevin Crace and his film crew. I am led to understand that this film interview could be released fairly soon although of course, its not my personal copyright and so I would need to obtain permission to publish any clips. Anyway to finish off – as I have a long night ahead of me – I hope some of you will at least get a chance to listen to Steve Genier’s show. Who knows what’s going to happen?!
For the moment everyone,
