Short of emailing us directly, there are three main ways you can get involved and interact with David.
Here, we present you with those options and a brief rundown and history of each method.

CHANNEL DFTVX

THE HUMAN TOUCH BLOG

THE FORUM BOARD

CHANNEL DFTVX

There can be no denying the impact that Youtube has had on the world wide web.
What was once only possible to do by purchasing bandwidth, can now be done for free - uploading video content to share with friends, family and complete strangers.
During the latter part of 2007, videos featuring cartoon interpretations of David and company, found their way to Youtube and were an instant hit with people around the world.
The videos themselves referenced events that had started to unfold from late '06/early '07 throughout the best part of 2007.
David of all people fully supported the animator(s) - even though he was lampooned in every episode, proving that he does actually have a sense of humour and that it wasn't just a dirty rotten lie!
Eventually, after tens of thousands of hits, these parodies were deleted from Youtube following numerous complaints from two rather unhappy people who were also being parodied, but in image and inference only and certainly not by name.
The main complaint, centered around false allegations of copyright theft; remarkable considering the majority of animations were all hand drawn by a talented artist from America.

As 2007 ended, so did the video's that had been uploaded on a semi-regular basis.
One of the team behind this website (who runs her own Youtube channel), hit upon the novel idea of starting a channel purely for David to talk about various aspects of his life and to carry on the theme inspired by the deleted cartoons.
It would be impossible to complain and drone on about 'copyright theft' as the production would be live and the content would avoid using peoples names thus giving less right to complain.
After one very short conversation following a December photoshoot at his Muswell Hill flat, the idea was agreed upon by David.
The channels launch was planned for late February, but following a meeting with David, the designer for the new website and two of the content providers, the date was pushed back for an April 1st launch for the website and all content; including DFTVX.

As of writing, only one episode of the show has been put out but depending on time and logistics, the plan is to put out a further six shows to round off a season.

We hope you enjoy the video's and your feedback and comments are always welcomed.

THE HUMAN TOUCH BLOG

The idea of running a blog was initially suggested in a telephone conversation to David back in the summer of 2007 but getting him to agree to it was a tough job.
His initial reaction, was "Who'd care enough to want to read my day to day diary? I'm not really that interesting"
Six months later, and with an internal hit counter showing tens of thousands of hits, the answer is above and beyond David's expectations and still suprises him.
The name was decided upon after a team member, who in a round table conversation, suggested that the human touch was lacking from a good many websites where ego's & attitudes kept the public at bay from the people behind the myths and legends.
Like a cartoon lightbulb, the name struck a chord and was adopted soon afterwards...replacing David's original choice of "Things You Never Knew", which caused us all to look at David and wonder what he'd been drinking!

It's widely known in media circles, that David Farrant has retained a healthy level of humility and thus, The Human Touch Blog was born in August 2007.
With subjects ranging from mundane day to day thoughts, through to details of upcoming books, talks and films, David welcomes public participation and enjoys the ensuing debates.
The Human Touch was launched amidst a storm of controversy in its first few months, forcing David to defend himself from untrue allegations that were being spread on several other blogs.
Rather than deal with matters privately, David used the blog as a diary to convey his most intimate and honest thoughts on the unfolding saga that saw the level of harrassment against him lead to the police arresting him on false information and subsequently releasing him without any charge whatsoever.
All of this can be read in the archives that have not been edited or altered in the slightest.
Concerned and curious members of the public, who are now considered friends, asked David if he could elaborate on what had happened and in his own style, he didn't hold back.

THE FORUM BOARD

The DavidFarrant.org forum board was set up back in 2006 as an aid to unify the numerous message boards and MSN groups that had been opened in David's name, but then subsequently held to ransom and eventually deleted by an embittered former member.
All but one of those early boards survive, Friends Of David Farrant, which now acts as a forwarding link to this, the new main headquarters of the BPOS & Highgate Vampire Society.
Whilst the board here is open to members of the public, it remains for private members viewing only...in other words, if you don't join it, you can't read it, but once you do, you'll be able to read numerous extracts from David's work, make friends with like-minded people and talk to David who pops in on a regular basis to answer questions in the 'Ask David' section of the forum. Through being a private board, it now has a far more intimate and friendly atmosphere to it
Due to the high level of spammers, attention seekers and general trouble makers, the team here at DavidFarrant.org strive to activate all genuine accounts within 48 hours. If for some reason your account has not been activated after 48 hours, please contact the team via the Contact page, or simply email us directly at forum@davidfarrant.org giving us your registered username and we'll take care of the rest.
We look forward to seeing you on the other side!

Whether it be Vampire's, Forums, Blogs or Youtube TV, David manages to attract publicity by default and is all too ready to answer his critics, in his usual all too polite & humble style.

We look forward to your contributions as readers and posters on both, the forum and the blog.
