Along with having written several dozen books ranging from autobiographies; chilling accounts of the paranormal; exposé's of fraudsters through to what has been described as the last word in the Highgate Vampire case, David Farrant is also the founder of The Highgate Vampire Society and the founder/President of the British Psychic & Occult Society.

 

The two organistations although similar in style, are different in execution.
The B.P.O.S is a dedicated society that does its utmost to try and find the root source of paranormal phenomena and investigate it thoroughly.
From eye-witness accounts through to library records, every attempt is made to try and catalogue reported phenomena including overnight vigils where possible.
Although membership isn't entirely exclusive, members are usually accepted through an invite only policy.

 

The H.V.S's purpose is twofold:
*1: Find out the truthful origin of the Black Figure reported over the centuries in Swain's Lane and surrounding areas.
*2: To dispell the lies, rumours, myths and self published rubbish about a supposed 'Vampire' having haunted and then been killed by amatuer attention seekers and self-publicists.
Again, although membership isn't in any way exclusive, we do like to get to know potential members before we add their names to the list.
